ACAR Housing Stats for Year End 2016

The resale market price point saw a surge in 2016, up nearly 7% from 2015 figures, while new construction numbers were nearly identical to those from a year ago. ACAR reports a nearly 14% increase in number of individual properties sold over 2015 figures. It’s well known that Boise is fortunate to have an optimistic group of developers and builders who continue to set a fast pace and deliver beautiful homes at all price points. The median price for a home in 2016 also increased nearly 7% over 2015 numbers. Here are three key stats:

  • 2016 Total Single-Family Homes Sold: 10,550 (compared to 9,284 in 2015 and  7,784 in 2014)
  • 2016 Median Price: $244,900 (compared to $229,000 in  $210,000 in 2014)
  • 2016 Average Number of Days on Market: 44

A closer look at the existing home and new construction market reveals:

Total Single-Family Homes Sold:

  • 2016 Existing Homes: 8,218 (compared to 7,594 in 2015 and 6,313 in 2014)
  • 2016 New Construction Homes: 2,332 (compared to 1,690 in 2015 and 1,471 in 2014)

Median Price:

  • 2016 Existing Homes: $227,500 (compared to $213,000 in 2015 and $193,500 in 2014)
  • 2016 New Construction Homes: $313,530 (compared to $313,722 in 2015 and $299,900 in 2014)
